Q: iOS 8.4 music app

*** apple? iOS 8.4 music app and the radio that you are pushing on us. I didn't want it when it first came out as I have my own music selection. I tried radio and it sucked, now 8.4 forces apple radio onto the unwary. I couldn't believe all the music I deleted from my devices you automatically made me follow these artist who I no longer have interest in. It will take a little getting used to the new music app, it has some good things but gee. Some people may like the radio but for me it just didn't interest me. Also not all countries have the freedom of cheap Internet data, so to use apple radio it is just nasty on data costs. I think I hear Steve Jobs screaming ***

by using the forward and rewind buttons like always. I always listen to my music on repeat so I never take off the repeat one feature but now I have to unlock my ipod and change the song every time manually. The only time I go to repeat all is when I listen to the few comedy albums I have. The ease is still gone.

If you have the repeat set to repeat one song, yes, that is how it behaves. Not sure why you would expect anything else. It is doing exactly what you told it to do.

My point is that is never did this before.

    At all.

They updated itunes and took this away and it's annoying but now it's gone in this annoying update of a music app.

It used to do what it was suppose to do but now it doesn't.

When you set repeat, it can be for the entire context, or just one song.

The repeat features still work the same as they always have, not sure what you're going on about.  The first tap will make the "list" of what you're playing repeat after playing all items (i.e. repeat the album if you're playing an album, repeat the playlist if you're playing a playlist).  The 2nd tap where the "1" shows up will repeat a single song over and over.

If playback stops at the end of a song, perhaps you have inadvertently set the option "Skip when shuffling" for all your songs, so in shuffle mode it will only play one at a time.  The "Skip when shuffling" setting is built into the tag, so you can only change this in iTunes.  I've heard users claim before that an iTunes update altered this setting, so check your tags to see if this has been enabled by mistake.

I know how "Repeat One" and "Repeat All" works cause I listen to music a lot.

Again....My point is....before all these new updates when "repeat one" is enabled, the track will repeat infinite times, and will skip to next track when I click next but now when "repeat one" is enabled, the track will still repeat infinite time, but I can't skip to next track by clicking next, that will only play the track from the start.  It's quite a hassle to either remove the repeat function off or to manually change the songs...

I am saying...that the new change the Apple placed on this function is very annoying and besides the updated, confusing music app, This was another thing that should of stayed the same...

I'm not talking about shuffling and at least shuffle still does what it meant to do. I'm talking about repeat.

I know how "Repeat One" and "Repeat All" works cause I listen to music a lot.

This may have NEVER happened to YOU per say but me using the older versions of IOS and the itunes before Itunes 11 know what features was their and what wasn't....And I'm not the only person with this problem so...

Yeah, I have confirmed this issue as well. Selecting skip will repeat the same song and not skip to the next one if repeat song is enabled. Have you submitted feedback yet to Apple regarding this issue?

Thank you so much cause I know who the features worked before and there was no fix to this.

I did recently but I kinda submitted it twice cause it had to do with Itunes and well im my case Ipod with the new IOS 8.4 update so I hope I did it right, Cause I really thought this would of been addressed from the first time they did the updates with Itunes so I remained silent and then the IOS  8.4 update happened and that was the last straw.

So all I have to do is just to wait and hope.
And originally my first comment to this thread was to someone suffering or just more like experiencing this same problem with me about the repeat one function so I never expect all that happened after.

    I'm sorry.

I Hate the latest update, on iPhone way too small. Nightmare when driving trying to quickly click a button, so much so found myself listening to the radio more. I guess the answer is as much noise to Apple to change things so people have a choice, remove the signup feature etc & create more space. Also found album covers that are slightly dark have made it really hard to see the track list as replicates the colours. In short agree with everyone

Assuming by "transfer songs by cable again" you mean sync with iTunes, yes you can. Simply turn off Apple Music. But otherwise, your country's taxes are completely beside the point, and no, you really do not have a "right" to anything you want. Nor are you addressing Apple here. This is a user-to-user forum. You can whine to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

First of all sorry my behavior I was kinda ****** about the apple music thing.

So assuming the point that has an alternative to turning off Apple Music which allows me sync my musics thru cable on itunes its fine, I regret all I said.

How would i turn off Apple Music?

I very much agree. This new layout is awful. I liked the ability to browse songs by the song title itself, not all this "radio" "connect" etc. I'm wondering if there is anyway possible to redownload the old version....
