Q: iOS 8.4 music app

*** apple? iOS 8.4 music app and the radio that you are pushing on us. I didn't want it when it first came out as I have my own music selection. I tried radio and it sucked, now 8.4 forces apple radio onto the unwary. I couldn't believe all the music I deleted from my devices you automatically made me follow these artist who I no longer have interest in. It will take a little getting used to the new music app, it has some good things but gee. Some people may like the radio but for me it just didn't interest me. Also not all countries have the freedom of cheap Internet data, so to use apple radio it is just nasty on data costs. I think I hear Steve Jobs screaming ***

Couldn't agree more.  This update is terrible and the shuffle options are terrible.  Wish that I could remove the radio and connect option entirely from my bottom bar.  WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT take the new streaming service, as the roll out was heavy handed and  totally commercialized.  Apple needs to stop forcing us to purchase products.  If they build it, we will follow.  I am disappointed that they think we are sheep that will just take whatever they spoon to us.

What are you being "forced" to purchase?  Don't want the streaming service?  Turn it off.

The app conveys feeling that one is being forced to purchase music, use the radio service and the streaming service as well.  Yes you can turn it off, but why should you have to at all?  The customer should WANT  to purchase or enroll in a new service, not be obliged to participate, much less purchase.  What a ridiculous comment to make to your customer, if you don't like it, turn it off?  Is that Apples position, or just yours, AKRBTN? Regardless, it is obnoxious to tell the customer to just turn it off.  Customer service is about trying to satisfy the customer, not **** them off, minimizing their frustrations with your update, that clearly many agree with.   Additionally, the new "option bar"  on the bottom of the music screen can no longer be customized, therefore it forces people to use those options.  Radio?  No thanks.  Connect?  No thanks.  I would do away with both of those, and no, you can't just turn them off, or take them off for that matter  The drop down menu is an inconvenience that we didn't have previously. Ask Siri to shuffle my songs?  I never optimized Siri ever, thought that was BS from the jump.   Not a fan.  Glad you like it.  Bully for you

I like having Apple music available.  So what about my customer satisfaction?  What on earth is wrong with "if you don't like it turn it off"?  It's a choice we're presented with every day - I first used it when I pushed my greens to the side of my dinnerplate when I was a kid.  You seem to lack confidence in your own free will. That's not Apple's fault.

Sure it can, perhaps you should check before you rant.

Your attitude makes it hard for me to explain, maybe someone else will.

While you can turn off apple music you can't turn off radio or connect, I don't like those either but I can't turn them off

Those tabs at the bottom of the screen basically can't be moved like how easy it was to move the songs, playlist, genre and etc. Tabs like before. I tried many times

I haven't seen a way to get rid of the Radio tab, so for now it seems you are stuck with it. Yes, in the previous build of the music player, we could relegate it to the overflow menu and choose something else to display in it's place. I hope Apple brings that option back in an update. I'd like not to disable Connect, as I do use it, along with the "New" and "For You" tabs, but I don't use them everyday and and wouldn't mind being able to customize which ones are showing and which ones are in the overflow menu, as before.

To disable "Connect" go to Settings > General > Restrictions and restrict "Apple Music Connect"

Edit: sorry was typing my reply as others were answering the question too.

So many times, a rant goes over so much better if a person states their complaint first and asks if there is a solution or work around.

Thank you, I use an ipod so I dont have a need for the other tabs that requires wifi when I'm not home, nor do I want them I all.

I do hope they fix the interface and the repeat one function sometime soon. I dislike that my music is just so cramped in one tab

And I understand what you mean. I do understand that person's frustrations but yea it could of been said better.

I totally agree. The new music app is so cluttered with unnecessary icons meant for streaming service. Going to shuffling mode or song album become so difficult now. Its also extremely difficult to navigate in the car while driving. Apple screw up the music apps badly.
