Q: iOS 8.4 music app

*** apple? iOS 8.4 music app and the radio that you are pushing on us. I didn't want it when it first came out as I have my own music selection. I tried radio and it sucked, now 8.4 forces apple radio onto the unwary. I couldn't believe all the music I deleted from my devices you automatically made me follow these artist who I no longer have interest in. It will take a little getting used to the new music app, it has some good things but gee. Some people may like the radio but for me it just didn't interest me. Also not all countries have the freedom of cheap Internet data, so to use apple radio it is just nasty on data costs. I think I hear Steve Jobs screaming ***

Haha yess anypats. I just wish apple gave us the option of removing an apple app from the iPhone/iPad that we do not want and rate how it is on the App Store. I wonder how soon we start calling the iPhone (Apple Phone) ,iPad (Apple Pad), iPod (Apple Pod) or iMac (Apple Mac). I can sort of understand how they had to try with changing the music app with streaming radio, but I'm in a country that has the worst data rates possibly in the world. This is why I struggle to enjoy it.

Yes, with the latest upgrade, the Radio is definitely pushed at me.  I don't want it.

You can turn off Apple Music in the settings and turn off Connect in restrictions. Radio is completely separate from Apple Music.

I, too, am suffering serious music issues on my iPhone.  The "next" (skip?) button doesn't work - it just re-starts the same song.  Does that mean I have "repeat" on?  I guess I am NOT familiar with that feature - I'm used to the "shuffle" feature, the icon with the 2 arrows.  Prior to 8.4 this feature worked as I have been used to over the years, so maybe that has changed and I don't know what to do with that.  Additionally, if I am just on my Library, there is no "shuffle" icon- I can't shuffle all of my music and the "next"/skip button doesn't work.  I guess whenever Apple pushes an update they need to provide a tutorial "for Dummies"...  If the features/functionalities are not intuitive, then that is not an improvement.  I am so angry, I hate my device and Apple.  I don't have time for this!  I also have the "connection" issues.  I just want to play the music that is on my device and taking up space!!  I am NOT going to use my data or wifi.  This is NOT what I signed up for!!  I have no interest in their Cloud or their new (pay!) music features. HELP!

I have this issue as well.  I have yet to find a "answering" to fix this - just keep reading about all the issues.  Too frustrated for words.  Done wasting my time...  Someone keeps whispering "Android" in my ear....  Shouldn't have to come to that.  I have an iPhone so I can play my device music.  'nough said....

I would so do this!  But how???  I had no issues with this version on my 5S.  8.4 is nothing but trouble!

Wow - you set me down the right path.  I FINALLY figured out some of my problems - the repeat, unable to use next/skip, shuffle issues etc.

When in Library, there is no shuffle icon - so you have to start playing a song.  Then clicking in the MIDDLE of the song bar on the bottom of the screen (title/artist) will bring it up in full screen mode.  From there you will see the Shuffle and Repeat icons - so mine was set to Repeat which why the next/skip arrow didn't work, just re-started the song.  Looking carefully, there is a grayish square that outlines the icon(s) to indicate if the feature is on. AND that is where the controls are when in the music app (vs the lock screen - which didn't work right either for me - Doh!)  Closing the full screen puts you back at your music list.

Same thing when in a Playlist - although here you actually see the shuffle icon.  Once you get the settings right, hitting the shuffle keeps shuffling the songs (vs using the >> arrows.)

Thanks for getting me started - yea teamwork!

I recently found a way to only have only My Music and Playlists tabs on my iPod Touch (so 2 tabs only at the bottom command bar).

iTunes was messing with my songs' title case and didn't want to pick up my changes, so I went into wrath mode and reset my iPod Touch to factory settings. Went through the installation sequence, then disabled wifi and plugged it to iTunes again, synchronized a few songs and launched the Music app: no radio or connect tab, and my songs and album were correctly named.

It stayed like this until I enabled wifi again and messed with the settings ... I tried reseting only the settings but to no avail, so I think the only possibility is reseting to factory settings and never touching settings again.

    Hope it helps.

firstly its not apples problems that some countries have expensive data and plus the only reason why its (( AUTOMATICLY ) put your old artists into your apple music is cause it will ask you if you want to use your previous music to find artists so don't blame apple. but I also get your point of view .....................
