Pages, Keynote, and Numbers Appearing Twice in Launchpad

Hello,

I recently bought a MacBook Pro (without Retina Display).

I tried updating the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers App respectively from the Store, but failed in my first attempt. Little did I know that updates can be carried out only when the MacBook is being charged. In frustration, I force quit the App Store.

Now, I have successfully updated all three apps. However, their icons appear twice in my Launchpad. Does anybody know why? What must I do in this case?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

You might be seeing the older version(s) via iWork 09. Don't delete them.

Strangely, both icons are working for the respective apps.

Not strange.

They are independent different apps, not just different looking icons.

The iWork '09 apps are superior in most ways, Pages '09 for example has 100+ features that are still missing in Pages 5.5.3,

In order to fact-check your observation, I opened both apps. They are the same version (5.5.3).

Not exactly "Fact-Chcking" as all we have to go on is what you tell us and we usually have to fill in the blanks.

If Pages doesn't appear twice in your Applications folder, Launchpad has got its data screwed up.

Trash the Launchpad .plist in your System Library and restart.

I am not running Yosemite at the moment so can't give the full path.

Hey Peter,

Neither Pages, nor Keynote, nor Numbers appear twice in my Launchpad. Do you anybody running Yosemite who may be able to help me in this matter?

Anyway, thanks Peter. I restarted my system which solved the problem. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote all appear just fine in Launchpad.
