Q: Anyone else have to install this update twice?

For some reason OSX update 10.10.4 updated twice on my computer (see attached image).  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm on a 15-inch, Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with 16 GB of RAM.

It's ok. Your screen shot indicates the App Store is, "Checking for updates" ..  it's probably just a server glitch with so many Mac users downloading the update simultaneously.

Click your Apple  menu top left in your screen.

From the drop down menu click:  About This Mac

If you see, v10.0.4, you're good to go.

Yes. According to my "Updates installed in last 30 days" I have installed it twice. According to "About this Mac" I am however still on 10.10.3, which explains why the install is running for a third time. The download is extremely slow (think dial-up), and I've actually seen is jump backwards on more than one occasion. Also my iMac has restarted at least once.

My guess is that the Apple servers are not able to cope with the volume and that this is causing the updates to behave erratically.

I'm seeing this as well, but my problem is slightly different. The install failed with the message:

"The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs."

After rebooting, it keeps showing up as installed, as well as ready to install as an update, but selecting Install just reboots the machine and adds another entry in the "Updates Installed" list.

Does anyone know how to delete the previous download and try again?

I think that may be the problem.  It acted like it was installing and rebooted and try to install, then it just loaded the OS.  When I installed it again, it ran through and I'm on OSX 10.10.4 now.

    Thanks!
