Q: ios 8.4 music missing

After updating my iPad to iOS 8.4 I can not locate most of my music and my music videos. The only music and music videos I can find are those purchased through iTunes. Any ideas where my music is and how to access it?  Thanks

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 8.4

Very odd. My music has just reappeared on my iPad.  I was just about to try a resync . Has Apple finally got it's act together? Check your app again before you try any re configs' or syncs'. Baffled!

The problem is that a lot of the Albums are showing up as Compilations when they were not in the old version.  An easy or painful fix for some (depending on the size of there music) is to go in and edit info and uncheck compilation.  I found this also screws up album work.  I dont understand how they could take albums such as ACDC live 1992 and call it a compilation, or something as new as Zac Brown Band Foundation and call it a compilation.

Apple really screwed up on this one and so far they wont do anything to fix it.  30+ days and nothing.

This IOS 8.4 is garbage. All my personal music is gone. Even though iTunes shows that it is copied to the iPhone 6, it is gone. It only shows music that I purchased. Every IOS version becomes less function and more intrusive. Control is heightened and privacy is violated. This may be the last iPhone I purchase.

I had this issue too.  My music was there in iTunes (12.2.1.16) on my PC but was not visible in MyMusic on my new iPhone 6 running ios 8.4.

    To fix this I:

    • went into Settings -> iCloud
    • switched off iCloud Drive
    • Connected my iPhone via a cable to my PC which commenced the Sync operation
    • After syncing all my albums were available in MyMusic on the phone
    • I then switched on iCloud Drive

Like so many other lots of music had gone missing however I spotted that there was still loads of space taken up on the iPhone by songs.   Now found all the missing albums...  myMusic still screwed big time  but another app to the rescue   TuneShell    Works perfectly and everything in the right place and nothing missing.  One day Apple might fix mytunes but until then ..........its tuneshell for me

I too had this happen on my iPhone 5S after updating to iOS 8.4 while on vacation.  I didn't find out that the majority of my music was missing (those tracks which were transferred from CD's and not from the iTunes store) until we got in the car to head home! What a drag!!!  I could see that the music was on the iPhone as it was taking up over 25gb of memory, but only iTunes purchased tracks showed up in the app.

It turned out that re-syncing the iPhone with iTunes (i'm running 12.2.1) worked and all of my tracks are once again available on my iPhone.

I had this same problem on a brand new iPad Air 2.  Sync'ed all my music from iTunes 12.2.2.25, but nothing would appear on the iPad.  I power-cycled the iPad, and all of a sudden the music is there.  Note that iCloud Drive in my case was off (never enabled).
