Why is music I just purchased on iPad not showing in my mac itunes library?

Just purchased 2 songs last night on my iPad. It plays on the iPad and phone, but can't find it on my Mac iTunes library? Isn't it suppose to sync to the computer too? I've bought songs before on ipad and it transferred over. Just wondering if there were any changes to the procedure? TIA

With the iPad connected to your Mac's iTunes did you do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over ? Or you might be able to redownload them directly on your Mac by clicking on your name towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then clicking Purchased on the popup :
