Both iOS 8.4 and MacOS 10.10.4 updates have destroyed my ability to read e-mail over IMAP+SSL. My server is Cyrus IMAP, and was working perfectly up until these two updates. Now, it fails to connect with no useful diagnostics of any sort available. I've tried both port 993 and 143 (using STARTTLS). Both work correctly..... except on an Apple device (now).

OS updates quite often require third party developers/apps/programs to update to remain compatible. That is why developers get a beta copy of the OS in advance in order to test it with their product, so that is quite likely your known reason for the update.

That makes sense, as it did work without SSL (though that's obviously an unacceptable workaround).
It's still unclear what the Curus IMAP upgrade did, however, since the old one was using the same version of OpenSSL (FreeBSD 10.1).
