Is there anyway not to put credit card information into your iPhone or iPad to download applications?

I'm having problems downloading applications is my debit card falls below a certain amount. Is there anyway to opt out of entering the credit card on either the iPhone 6 for the iPad 2?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2

Have you tried logging into your account (e.g. tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone or iPad) and seeing if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information in the iTunes Store - Apple Support ? Whilst you have a card on your account it has to be valid and accepted by the iTunes validation
