Playlists and music are not syncing (can't add any music to my iPhone now)

I've been having a lot of trouble with Apple Music! I have a pretty large iTunes library (25k) and have been using iTunes Match. At first things seemed okay on my iPhone 6. I added a couple of albums and it was good.

Then I got iTunes 12.2 and the music I added from Apple Music showed up greyed out. Nothing I did seemed to make those songs want to become available. I saw someone posted to delete the songs from the iPhone library and then add them using your Mac and then it would show up on both. No dice. I toggled Music on and off and had it re-download my music library to my iPhone. I still can't see the albums I added on my Mac (and which are clearly in my Mac library).

Now I can't add anything to my iPhone library. When I browse for an album not on my iPhone and click the "Add to My Music" button, it says okay, does the check mark thing, and then a few seconds later the icon switches back from a checkmark to a plus sign.

Basically I can't add music to my iPhone at all because I can't sync it to my computer (since now it syncs only through Apple Music), it isn't syncing changes from my Mac to my iPhone, and I can't add anything from Apple Music to my iPhone. Help!

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4

I have an email that shows this reply and I can get to it via your profile page but the thread does not show this reply. I think Apple is crumbling... :-)

Does this page help you any: Check your Apple Music library settings - Apple Support

iCloud Music Library is not the same as iTunes Match. I know you have a PC but I thought these screen shots may help. One is when I'm logged out. The other is when I'm logged in.

Interesting. The dialog box I see is the one you show as occurring when logged out. But I am logged in according to the dropdown that appears when I click on the head icon at the top of the screen. Which makes sense, as I had to log in when I started the session.

I just played with it some more and it is still not managing the playlists properly. I added a song to the playlist I use on my phone, plugged in the phone, let it auto-sync and also told it to sync manually after a while, and the song would not appear on the phone. I was able to add it a second time, getting the duplicate message and told it to go ahead anyway, and it did appear on the phone after that (but only once), not duplicating anything).

BTW, I have not activated Apple Music on my account so anything associated with that should not be affecting this.

Cannot we not sync apple music from our mac to our iPhone via cable? I have downloaded an album to play offline on my iMac and now want to transfer this album via playlist to the iPhone but a warning keeps coming up stating that as the song/album is part of a subscription it cannot be synced! Have I missed the point here? Surely we can transfer offline music from our iMac to our iPhone right? I understand about DRM but just thought as it was part of the apple eco-system it wouldn't matter.

The ONLY fix I could find for this was to do a complete return to factory settings. This means a reset - erasing all content and settings - that will involve setting up as 'A New Watch' and not restoring from a backup. If you restore from a backup you will only be able to transfer a playlist to your watch 1 time. If you want to change it to another playlist it will go into the eternal preparing sync mode. That's what worked for me albeit I had to set up the watch again with my preferred apps and glances. Still worth it for me anyway.

Don't do this:

In Settings:Music, I

(1) turned-off "iCloud Music Library".

(2) got a warning that all my music would be deleted (from somewhere).

(3) ignored the warning.

(4) the playlist that I used to use for my marathon training is back on my iPhone.

mission accomplished! My Playlist was transferred (and my music was not deleted).

But... now I have an extra copy of 3 standard playlists:

Recently Added

Recently Added1 <--- why?

Recently Played

Recently Played1 <--- why?

Top 25 Most Played

Top 25 Most Played1 <--- why?

My Running PlayList

And... I can no longer sort my music by Title or Artist on the iPhone, but I can sort on the MacBook. My 3 month free subscription to Apple Radio will expire long before I sort out my iTunes chaos. anyway...

Be very careful of what you do. cheers!

I have been reading all the replies and have still landed nowhere. I have an iPhone 6 I just started Apple Music on couple weeks ago. Everything went ok for awhile, but now cannot sync anything to my phone. I have restored, I have turned off all I can. It will not manually sync checked songs. I deleted my library on my phone and now I can't even get an audiobook on there.

It's showing I only have 3 songs. I just want to go back to the way it was with no Apple Music
