replacing screen (not LCD) and top outer housing????

Hi

I have the Macbook Pro Mid 2009 and have a dent on the top housing aluminum right near the lit up logo and also have a dent on the corner of the top housing that ended up putting a single crack that carries to the bottom of my screen.

Since I can detach the entire upper half (including the screen, LCD, and housing) by unscrewing some screws, can I just simply take and switch the entire upper half of my laptop (including the screen, LCD, and housing) with another Macbook Pro Mid 2009??

I do not see why not but have not found anyone that has a similar problem. I just happen to have another Macbook same edition that is very broken internally but has a perfectly fine and working screen.

Thanks
