Ipod Troubles

I have an old iPod touch (4th Gen) and up until a few days ago I would use it to play music in my car while I was driving. All of a sudden, the iPod won't play music anymore. I've checked the cords and the vehicle ports and other devices worked when plugged in. Whats weirder is that I know the charging port on the iPod itself isnt damaged because it operates normally when I plug it into my mac. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks for the help!

- Try another cable if you can

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Reset the car system

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
