Problems unchecking read-only on iTunes folder

hello I have windows 8 and My iTunes folder is checked read-only, so I have been trying to uncheck it so that I can sync the music with my iphone. However, every time I unchecked it and apply it will go back to begin read-only once I close it. I have tried going to permissions and even doing it to every file but it still reminds as a read-only option. Please help me!
