Q: Can't forward safari webpages using share command

A week ago I encountered this problem, and it hasn't resolved. When I attempt to forward a webpage article or other item using the command "Share => Email this page" nothing happens and I get the "ping" sound indicating that an operation failed. Any ideas? I tried reconfiguring mail settings to default, but that doesn't solve it.
