Why is explore and search the same in the app store?

Why is explore and search the same in the app store?

I tried using the search feature in the app store but saw that it was exactly the same as the explore feature.

Not sure what you mean.

The Explore feature divides apps into Categories so that you can search all apps within a given categorical grouping

The Search function does searches on Keywords, so will return all apps with that keyword or combination of keywords in the app name regardless of the category of the app

The Trending searches listed below are all keyword searches

So, maybe you can explain the issue you are having?

I mean they look exactly the same when I toggle between both features. The only difference between the two images below is the rolling ads at the top. Notice that on the bottom one is explore and the other is search. I could very well be doing something stupid too 🙂

That is because it it not going to the Search window. The Search should look like this:

Reset your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays again, go back to your App Store app and click on Search to see if it will display the correct screen.
