Apple Music substitute my local songs to Apple music format

I subscribed iTunes match for years and now start using Apple Music.

I added some new songs to my library and after I added them to the iCloud library, the status under iCloud Status column is now 'Apple Music' instead of 'Uploaded' or 'Matched' as used to. If I remove download and re-download it again, it came back with DRM protection!

How can I solve this? It seems I cannot listen to these songs if I unsubscribe Apple music...

When I used "remove download" it removed/deleted the physical song from my hard disk. I hope you have a backup.

Always keep a complete backup of your entire library, whether or not you subscribe to iTunes Match or Apple Music.

Read the warning about Apple Music not being a backup in any manner. Even Match should not be used in this fashion.

Great article from Serenity Caldwell at iMore.com explaining the DRM situation: http://www.imore.com/no-apple-not-adding-drm-songs-your-mac-you-already-own. As others have posted, iTunes Match/iCloud Music Library is NOT a backup service, don't delete your original files (or a least keep a backup somewhere).
