iTunes album view, low quality Images

The artwork that comes up when I open an album in album view is really low quality, no matter the size/quality of the actual artwork.

I've tried changing the artwork to different sizes, but its always reduced to this quality.

This picture shows the loss in quality between the actual artwork and the artwork in album view.

I'm not sure if this a fixable problem, or simply the way iTunes uses the artwork, either way it's a bit rubbish, especially since i upgraded to a retina display...

iTunes version 12.1.2.27

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

(apologies, this doesn't fit into any of the categories)

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), null
