iOS 8.4 crashing

Question

iOS 8.4 crashing

So, I got the iOS 8.4 update and let it install completely. I also let my phone charge to 100%. I unplugged my phone and entered my passcode, and all my phone does is load up my wifi and all the notifications, then the screen gets dark and crashes as if I power off my phone by holding down the power button, shows weird lines down the screen (I did not drop my phone before thsi started to happen, it was sitting on my bed while installing and charging) then it shows the apple logo, and repeat. I've tried multiple times but nothing works. I am using the iPhone 4s.

You've had the same problem that I've had with my 4s. For some reason (don't ask me why), it's the VPN that's causing your phone to crash. If your phone tries to connect to the VPN, it'll crash. So if you don't want your 4s to crash, you'll have to make sure it doesn't connect to a VPN. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I turned on my VPN after doing a factory reset and it happened, so I had to go onto my phone, quickly delete the VPN, and then shut off my phone so it registers that it's deleted. Man, I wish I knew that it was my VPN doing that before I put my phone back to factory settings.

Thanks a lot i had the same problem with my 5c i tried everything to stop it like running the battery down and trying again. I was about to do a factory reset but i just thought i would try here and found this so thanks you saved me from that. A little extra as-well if people are wondering how to disable the VPN in time just put your phone on airplane mode as soon as it comes back on then you have as much time as you want to delete it thanks again 🙂

guys this is not a solution because i need the VPN sometimes urgently. why Apple did that with its IOS 8.4?

I am having the same issue after installing the IOS, I have restored, rebooted, allowed iTunes to update, nothing seems to work.

One of the worst update i have ever seen. It effects cellular connectivity, internet connectivity-3G is not working ,wifi- connectivity, even one time my iphone took the restart, apps getting hanged, touch id is not working properly. Anyone can please sort me out, how i can get rid of all this issue? How can i downgrade to lower version?

There are no such problems with 8.4 and downgrading isn't supported. If your phone was ever jailbroken, there are many problems when updating. Assuming it was never jailbroken, restore to factory settings:

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
