10.10.4 update: weird experience
I successfully installed the latest 10.10.4 update yesterday on my MacBook Pro, which is a late 2011 model.
Although I said 'sucessfully', but it was not without problems.
Preface:
After I clicked 'Reboot' after downloading finished in App Store, the normal installation screen appeared (yes, that one with only one window and gray background).
1st problem:
When the progress bar progressed almost 100%, I heared a very strange harsh sound that never happened for years during my experience.
2nd problem:
Then screen went to blank and I heared the familiar reboot sound, and a white screen showed up with a long progressbar at bottom. The screen only lasted for about 2 seconds and then it fell back to blank screen again. This repeated at least 3 times, until I pressed some keys on keyboard. Then it booted normally and after a long time wait (around 5 minutes), I could log into the new system.
I'm not sure if the strange problems where caused by the fact that my MBP is very old. Or are the sound and repeated reboots totally expected for this update?
