Numbers: How can I create one new cell in one line, not in all lines?
Hello,
I would like to create in numbers new cells, but not in all rows, only in one.
I didn´t find an answer until yet.
Thanx for a short explanation! 🙂

Do you mean entering multiple lines within a cell?
Press option+return and that will create a line break(s) within a cell.
Numbers 3.5.3
Hi Vertberlin,
Numbers does not have a split cell capability.
You can merge cells. http://help.apple.com/numbers/mac/3.2/#/tan834b645e7
This is not something that is good to do in Numbers. Strange behaviors may result.

you cannot insert a new cell in a column without adding a cell to all other columns. Numbers does not support this.
There is a work around though:
1) select the column, copy
2) click on the sheet, paste. This creates a temporary table
3) now insert a new row where you want (in the temp table)
4) select the column (in the temporary table), copy
5) select the column in the original table, paste
Or (assuming you have a blank row at the bottom of the table) just select the cells you want to "move down", click and hold, drag down. This moves the whole column down one (or more) rows, while not affecting the other columns.
