Q: Cannot connect to email accounts at Google after update to 10.10.4
I I use several email accounts, at iCloud and at Google. After the upgrade, mail.app cannot connect to the Google ones anymore.
iCloud still works fine.
Some, not all, of the Google accounts have 2-step verification enabled. They are linked through the old style gmail setup with application specific passwords.
The Google accounts all report in the connection doctor that the username/password combo is wrong. This is obviously not the case, as they worked fine just before the upgrade and i can also log on to them just fine through the web. I can also access the accounts just fine through mail.app on OSX.

Solved the problem by going to mail preferences > accounts then under an account > advanced checking the checkbox for "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
