Since todays updates (see attachment) ibooks.author's preview does not work anymore. It gives me a comment that I needed a newer version of ibook (see attachment).
I am running OS10.9.5 Build 13F1096, iBooks 1.0.1 (281), MacBookPro Retina Mid 2012. I made all the updates from app.store.
I hope somebody can help me! thanks in advance.

I don't know for certain, but my guess would be that you need to have the version of iBooks that comes with Yosemite.
The same thing happened to me. I updated it yesterday and now I get the same message. Did you figure out anything?

Are you running 10.10 Yosemite?
No. Do I have to? Why? I do have the option to update it.
If it is asking you for a newer version of iBooks, it may be that the only way to get that is by upgrading. But I do not know for sure whether this is the fix.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will test it this evening on an other Mac with 10.10.4 (updated just now). On my MacBook I will only upgrade if Photos.app gets more of the missing functions.
However! I am disappointed that Apple is making me updates which are not compatible with my OS version.

Tom, you where right! iBA 2.3 preview on my MacBook Air 10.10.4 is o.k.
What do you think: Should I replace 2.3 with the previous version of iBA 2.2 from TimeMachine?
But in the meantime I made quite some developments of the project under 2.3.

How can we go back to 2.2 on Time Machine? I don't want to change the system now because we normally wait approval from our Tech Department. I work at a school. So how can I go back using iBA 2.2? Thanks.
Tom, Meanwhile I got iOS 8.4 with fixes for ibooks. Preview of iBA is now o.k. I can live with no preview on Mac.
