Can't download GarageBand 10.1 update and app store keeps searching for updates. 10.10.3 Yosemite

I received a notice of a 10.3 update for GarageBand. When I pressed download, the app store starts seaching for more updates while the GarageBand download keeps cycling. I routinely add all such updates even if I don't use the application. Have tried numerous restarts and reset permissions without success. I am really disappointed to have a problem like this and it makes me wonder if my system has somehow become infected with something bad. It also now appears there may be a Yosemite 10.10.4 update, but this never showed up as an available update on my computer.

Here is what I did to resolve my problem:

1) Closed App Store

2) Opened Activity Monitor > CPU tab > did forced shut quit of software update

3) Reopened App Store > I did not hit the update button which was showing 1 update in queue

4) Instead, located GarageBand 10.1 in the App Store and downloaded from there

That made the update queue showing 1 update go away, I then hit the update button and it then reflected other downloads that included Yosemite 10.10.4.

After hitting update all, everything is good again.
