No audio after 8.4 update

I have audio, just not on most of the crappy games I play and half the videos (youtube works, embedded videos in articles seem not to). Updated my iPhone 6Plus at the same time and no such issues. Have tried reinstalling games, forced restart, headphones in/out, all the usual fixes. Is this just a matter of other apps not being ready for the update, or just me? Of course, the iPad is all of about two weeks old. I should know better than to upgrade at the first opportunity. Hoping if not for a fix, at least someone else suffering the same problem so I know I didn't simply do something ridiculous (like the time I thought the orientation malfunctioned but I had unknowingly ticked the button to lock it).
