I recently updated my iPod touch 5th gen. to ios 8.4. Now every time I turn the wifi on my iPod changes to weird colors and restarts itself. Help what do I do?

After updating my iPod touch ( 5 generation) to the iOS 8.4, I noticed every time the WiFi turned on my iPod would turn off and restart itself. Before the iPod completely turned off, stripes or different colors would appear in the screen and then slowly faith away, into restarting mode. I have tried turning it off completely, it doesn't seem to work. The iPod works fine if the WiFi is turned off but the minute I turn the WiFi on my iPod shuts down. What should I do help?!?!

Take a look at this Apple Support article:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204051

Reset your network settings.

Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings

Reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

Hope this helps!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

To restore from backup see:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
