Since the 10.10.4 update I'm having trouble using the mail app in my macbook pro. It constantly shows that my mail SMTP server is offline and I'm unable to send any message.
However, when using my non-updated home computer, with the exact same mail configuration, all works just fine and the messages are sent! And the same goes to my iPhone and iPad...
Any idea of what might be going on?

You're not alone. Not sure if Apple is going to fix this issue but in the meantime you could use a different mail client like Thunderbird, works fine. The issue is only Apple Mail related.

The SMTP I'm using is based in a corporate server and the account is configured for IMAP. It was working with no problems since 2010 or 2011, always using the Mail app software of the different Mac OS X versions.

What finally re-enabled a proper SMTP connection on my side was to remove the SMTP servers from the servers list (minus button) and then add them back, using the same settings (plus button).
Has still not worked for me :/.
Settings are exactly like on my iPhone. No chance. On iPhone no problems at all..
