Use "Get Info" on a document that is a .pdf, & where it says Open With, choose Preview.

Or highlight such a document and choose from the File menu, to choose Open or Open with.

By default, the system should be choosing Preview. However if you also have Adobe Reader

there are times when that application may reveal more content that had been authored-in by

the creator which may not be visible in Preview. I've used both, yet keep Preview as default.

Hopefully this is adequate to resolve the issue.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
