My Daughter's ipad mini is frozen on the slide to unlock screen. I have already tried reseting it and it still is frozen

When you say to tried resetting it, did you hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, then release the two buttons?
Yes I did that and it still didn't work
When you follow the reboot procedure, before the apple logo comes on, if you get the red slider to power down try that, then after it has shutdown power up normally.
If that does not work, might be a good idea to take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check out what is wrong incase the screen is damaged.
