Q: Pay for myself but I aren't the "organiser" - Apple music family membership

Apple does not have an option for each participant to pay for their own purchases. All payments go to the credit card on file under the organizer.

It looks like if you have store credit then that is used first.

"After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer's card."

Edit: So it appears that you would be able to pay for it yourself as long as you have the required amount in your iTunes account each month

I’ve been looking around for about an hour now, and it looks like in Family Sharing, it’s impossible to pay for a purchase with your own debit/credit card if you are not the Family Organizer.

If you want to pay for something yourself (without leaving the family), you have two options.

• Option 1: You can buy an Apple gift card (the smallest of which is $25; overkill if you want to buy a $1.99 app, for example).
• Option 2: You can set up a new Apple ID (basically a new user account), and attach your credit/debit card to it. Then you can buy app/book/song/whatever and send it as a “gift” from your newly-created account to your old Apple ID.

That is RIDICULOUS.

You can buy iTunes codes online from Apple for as little as $10. I buy them for birthday gifts a lot.
