Q: Albums added to My Music have some tracks 'hidden' until clicking Show Complete Album

Ok, I'm probably doing something really stupid, but this is driving me nuts.

The vast majority of albums I have added to My Music are fine.

However, on a few (and I'm talking over a dozen), although I've added the whole album to My Music, not all the tracks show up (eg it might be missing tracks 3 & 4) and there is a Show Complete Album button towards the bottom of the track listing 'window'. If I click on that, the 'missing' tracks appear and are playable - although as soon as I click on the album cover (and shrink the track listing), the song stops playing and upon re-opening, they've disappeared again.

Some random examples;

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms - tracks 3 and 9 don't show

Aerosmith - Pump - track 4 doesn't appear

The Horrible Crows - Live at the Troubadour - Tracks 8 and 14 have gone missing

Pat Benatar - Best Shots - Tracks 3 and 4 are not there

Survivor - Eye of the Tiger - Track 1 not there

Once I've hit the Show Complete Album and the tracks appear, there's an option next to each of the previously missing songs to Add (and an option in the bottom right to Add All Songs, but neither actually does anything.

I could understand if the songs were totally greyed out - perhaps Apple hasn't got the rights from the artist, but how come I can play them if I go through the rigmarole of Show Complete Album and then keep the track listing displayed (only for them to disappear again!)

It's not explicit songs either, so I'm at a loss

Any ideas what stupid thing I'm doing or not doing?

Thanks

null, Windows 7

I have the same  similiar problem, in my case the "hidden" tracks are always those that I already have in my library in another album.

For example: I have artist AAA's album BBB in my library. It includes the track CCC. When I add AAA's another album DDD that also includes the CCC track, the CCC track doesn't add with DDD.

Seems like a bug related to iCloud and scanning for duplicates...

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

That makes sense... but absolutely *****...!!!

I want to be able to control My Music how I want to control it, not have iCloud try and do it for me! Let's hope it gets resolved.

I have the same issue like I even took this print as an example http://i.imgur.com/mpVJqhM.png
Will I get to hear these songs again or I have to re-add it to my library and disable iCloud on pc? I'm very confused about all of this tbh

Same problem here. And it does seem to occur with songs that overlap between albums. For example - I have classical music compilation albums that I've added from apple music to my library which share certain tracks, and those tracks will only appear in one of those albums and not any of the others. It does seem to be an issue where iTunes is recognizing it as a duplicate song and preventing it from being added into multiple albums. Definitely something I'd love to see fixed - can be pretty frustrating when you're trying to add an album to your library for streaming and it refuses to add all of the songs.

I've been having this problem since the beginning.  If I add a greatest hits album and then add other albums later by the same artist the songs on the greatest hits album aren't added.  It's frustrating because sometimes I want to listen to the greatest hits album and other times the actual album.  I guess the workaround is to make a playlist, but why should I have to do that?
