My phone is not connecting to my Mac computer and not showing up on itunes. its charging through the computer but nothing comes up when i plug it in. how do i fix this?

Having the same issue with my iPad Air & late 2013 Retina Macbook Pro. Both have been updated yesterday. I have backed-up & restored the iPad, done the NVRAM & SMC on my Mac with no success.

This issue appears to have happened since the latest update of iTunes (12.2) last evening.
