Mac Book Pro won't print to Canon mp240

I have hooked my Mac Book Pro up to my Canon MP240 printer. My laptop is recognizing the printer and says it is connected. The USB is connected, and the printer is turned on. When I try to print, I select Canon MP240, hit print and then nothing happens. It's acting as if it's sending the document to the printer but then nothing happens at the printer. When I look at the printing queue, there is nothing there. Not sure if I'm missing something, or if the problem is with my printer. Please help. 🙂
