iCal Resetting Event Info

I'm currently running Mavericks (10.9.5) and have recently had a problem with iCal (Version 7.0 (1841.1)):

I only use my iCloud calendars so I can share the info with specific people and so I can have it synched with my phone. Recently every time I create a new event and add a name, location, etc., after it syncs to iCloud all of the new information I added gets deleted, and it's back to a "New Event". Then once I re-enter in the information everything is fine. It's not a *huge* problem, but a minor inconvenience to have to enter in all of my scheduling information twice.

Is this a common problem? Is it something I can change in the settings?
