Servers EnterpriseThis was a problem in the past with Google cookies. Open Safari (I'm using Safari 8.0.7 on Mavericks now so these instructions might not be exactly the same) and go to the Privacy tab. There should be a button for "Details" about website data. Search the cookies for "Google" and delete all of them.
You may need to quit Safari and iPhoto. But before Apple switched to using Apple maps for the places this resolved the issue.

Sep 2, 2015 12:27 AM in response to Douglas McLaughlinby Remy Leroy,The issue can't be a simple cache or cookie issue as it appeared at the same moment (end of june) for every people using iPhoto 9.2.x to 9.4.x
But I gave it a try and suppressed all the Google cookies from Safari.... to no avail!
The "blank screen map" issue remains within iPhoto.
Thank you for the idea, nevertheless
