Q: Is anyone else not able to send messages on their Google accounts?

I installed the 10.10.4 update this morning and was unable to send messages on my Google accounts.

In Mail, I have four (4) Google accounts, each pointing to their own google SMTP server address. All four of them are using password authentication.

When I go to "Edit SMTP Server List...." and view the SMTP server settings, I notice the password is blank. When I fill in the password and save, I am still unable to send mail. I go back to the SMTP server settings and notice it's blank once again.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I'm afraid this could be a catastrophic upgrade

Thanks,
Chris

The following fix worked for me:

    - Go to Preferences > Accounts

    - the account that's not working and choose 'Edit SMTP Server List' from the outgoing mail server section.

    - Under the advanced tab for the relevant SMTP server, I had (due to other issues in the past) left the "Automatically detect and maintain account settings" unchecked.

I ticked that option again, re-entered my password, and voila -- SMTP sending was working again.

Not sure if will solve your problem, but symptoms sound the same.
