Aug 2, 2015 11:36 PM in response to go2sleep327by AppleQer,I hear you!
Why do we have to wait so long for an update to fix this (assuming that it actually will)?
I guess somebody is just too busy working on the next product, which will probably have a new set of bugs!
What can we do?
Nothing, other than send feedback https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html, and radically lower our expectations.
Still not ready to go to abandon ship yet, but that is only because the competition is so poor.
A sorry situation indeed.

Did iOS 8.4.1 fix it?
iOS 8.4.1 has not yet been released so we have no way of knowing the definitive answer to that.
Correction...I see now that it has indeed been released so I suppose we will find out soon enough.

Aug 13, 2015 3:42 PM in response to SergZakby SergZak,Replying to myself...has anyone yet installed iOS 8.4.1 and checked whether or not the slow wake or screen rotation issues (linked topics below) have been resolved? I'm reading info on other forums that the issue has NOT been resolved for either issue.

Aug 13, 2015 4:58 PM in response to SergZakby bobseufert,You're not going to believe what happened. I wrote that post a month ago. I just did the update and can't get into ASC, I wanted to ask you if you're having problems and somehow the old post got reposted. Oh the joys of updates.

Aug 13, 2015 5:07 PM in response to SergZakby bobseufert,Fortunately I'm not slipping yet. I was using a iPhone 4 running IOS 5.0.2 during the update, what a pain in the but. Then I couldn't get into ASC using Safari so I downloaded the Puffin web browser. Now I'm back on Safari until the next time I need to log in.

Aug 13, 2015 5:14 PM in response to SergZakby halfcack,Back to normal with .1, however, you have to remember that, it was a second. If now I'm seeing .5 second's, it is hard to distinguish between the time before the music update 1 to music update 2. It's faster, but is it .5 faster or instantaneous. I would have to have the 8.3 to find out, which isn't going to happen.
The music thing is not going to change the world, it was fine the way it was. No one has dared mentioned it's this that caused the delay In the first place.
Mine is half what it was, that I can say for sure, but what that half is, is not what it was before the music 1 and 2 updates.
Sorry if that sounds conflicted but without the comparson, its useless info. It makes no sense to download 9, that also has delay. So, the consideration of beta testing that for Apple is out.

Aug 13, 2015 5:28 PM in response to halfcackby SergZak,Are the rotation issues corrected? I'm not as concerned about the wake delay issue as I am the rotational issue.
iOS 8.4 screen rotation not working
I suppose I should just install 8.4.1 but I'm getting more and more reluctant with these updates...and on top of that I'm hearing more reports that these issues have not been fixed.

Aug 13, 2015 6:30 PM in response to SergZakby halfcack,I never had the rotational issues because I always had it locked in landscape as it was for music 1 and music 2. That part was unaffected. I can still rotate and lock landscape and portrait. if that prevented any issues for me I don't know?
I doubt if it could be worse, but maybe it could be a lot worse. How could an update affect the same machine differently. As in yours and mine. All I can say is the disclaimer always used, your results may vary, it looks like ours has !
