Use an Mini-Display to HDMI and send the audio signal through jack. Is it possible? (MBP Late 2011)

Hi! Im planning on using a display that supports hdmi with the minidisplay port adapter. However, I wish to send the audio signal through jack (because I use some sweet 2.1 speakers). Is it possible? Or will the HDMI take all (video-audio) to the display?

PD: Mi display has built-in speakers and does not have an audio output.
