Daisy chain two displays with HDMI to Mini Display Port adaptor.

I have a 2013 15” Retina MacBook Pro with 750M.

I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2415H display with a Mini Display Port. I also have an older LG display with a DVI-D, VGA, and HDMI connection. I’ve been using a DVI-D adaptor and plugging in both displays to a Thunderbolt Port on my MacBook Pro. I would like to daisy chain these displays so I only have to plug in the display port that came with the dell.

Would it work to use an adaptor or buy an HDMI to MDP cable and plug the LG into the Dell display? I feel like this wouldn’t work because the LG would still interpret the single as HDMI. Would this setup work to daisy chain?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
