Help with seeing on the web

I need a solution for seeing text imput boxes on the web for completing questionaires and text boxes. For instance when asked to complete a registration form with name and mailing data, finding the gridline box area are so transparent I do not know where to aim my pointer. I have tried to increase contrast but that does not help. If I attempt to use tab to randomly get my insertion point to the text box it still is not visible. I find this problem to be universal in Safari, Firefox and all other browsers.

Also does anyone know how to block out large areas of graphics to read uninterrupted text. Someone recommended Google Reader.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
