iPad2 flashes from Safari to homepage and back multiple times

When trying to use Safari my iPad2 will start rapidly flashing back and forth between Safari and the home page. This just started recently after replacing a cracked screen. Is this a system error or caused by a faulty screen? It doesn't seem to be happening with other apps, just Safari.
