Q: Photos alert - "The library could not be created. Photos does not have the necessary permissions..."

The commands given on the support page If Photos can’t copy or create a library - Apple Support don't work for me. My iPhotos Library is in my Hard Drive not my Photos folder. Is there any way to use this library in Photos? I always get the alert about not having necessary permissions.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

My iPhotos Library is in my Hard Drive not my Photos folder.
Is this your internal hard drive or an external hard drive? If on an EHD what is the format of the drive and how is it connected to your Mac

Its on my internal hard drive. I tried moving it to my Pictures folder so that the commands given by the apple support page might be relevant but there isn't enough space to move it.

If it is on your internal drive then it does not need to be in the Picture folder although it is better since that is the default location

What size is and How much free space do you have on your internal Drive?

Ah. I have 38 GB free, and the library is 85GB.
