Preview won't save changes to jpeg

I've recently been sent some files of a logo from the designer and on trying to resize a jpeg in Preview, I find it won't save the edited version. The files aren't locked. It doesn't happen with jpegs that I know I own, eg camera pics. Tips?

Might be corrupted Preview preferences ...

Quit Preview if it's open.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist

Click Go then move the com.apple.Preview.plist file to the Trash.

Relaunch Preview to test. Your Mac will generate a new .plist file for you.
