Maps no longer provides directions... Why?

The recent upgrade has caused my Directions To/From to no longer function. Maps hangs when I request the "overview."

OOk let me break this down ! Apple servers are not COMMUNICATING WITH ATT IPHONES. I can use another browser aand my phone works fine but the second I use ANY APPLE BASED APPLICATIONS IT WILL NOT CONNECT ! Understand. And att has the email from Apple stating they realize the issue but don't have a fix for it ! I know coding ! I have all Apple products!!!

OOk to make this crystal clear . From the same PHone . I used my google application from my mobile data through Att ! But when I try to use my maps applications from the same mobile data it does not work . So therefore , my wording is correct ! Apple servers are not Communicating with ATT mobile network ! Go ahead test the theory . Trust me . I have , did and called both companies . I dislike android but if this issue is not fixed expeditiously I will need to get rid of all my apple based products !

Again if you can connect to one server and not the other, then either the other server is down or the network to that server is congested.

You can check the status, it is updated all the time.

So if AT&T connection to Apple server is non-functional, who fault is that?

Apple server was down for a while because of millions of users hitting it to have their Xcode, iOS and OS X, etc... updated.

Anyway your issue cannot be solved here, we cannot change the reality.
