Q: What happened to my iTunes radio stations in iTunes 12?

I used to really enjoy working out to the radio stations that I made in iTunes.  You would just type in an artist, like the beach boys and iTunes would try to find similar music.  Where did this feature go and can I reinstate my favorite artists as radio stations with similar music?

I found all of my old radio stations on the left side of the Radio window - under Recently Played.  I also think the radio stations are now sounding better and playing a better choice of music.

I too have seen the "Recently Played" option.  But only sporadically.  On the two occasions I saw/used it the link/station/service stopped after about 30 minutes (not sure about the time since I didn't clock it).  I'm frustrated!  I've given feedback to them but no response so far.

You will not receive a response. This clip is from the feedback page you used:

    All:

I, too, am looking for a function that resembled the previous version's ability to easily create/edit/delete custom radio stations.  The recent category only displayed the last eight stations I listened to, and every time you listen to a new one that is not on your previous list of custom stations, the one that was listed to the longest ago drops out; i.e. further reducing your old stations.

Does anyone know how to get iTunes to a display an editable list of custom stations that approximates what the previous version had, or has Apple taken away that feature?

    I fully second this opinion.

I put in so much editing to fine tune my old stations which I used as "go to's" in multiple scenarios: studying, getting ready, drawing, working out etc., now they are all gone after experimenting with some of the new ones! I wouldn't have opened the new ones if I had known this would happen. Granted, I am not an iTunes geek and don't read updates, but that's rude if they are inaccessible anymore, without so much as a warning prompt?

I, too, was missing the custom radio station feature -- and looking forward to perhaps improved stations with the Apple Music revamp.

Looks like this *is* still possible, just a bit harder to find. Read here:

Listen to Apple Music Radio - Apple Support

Specifically, the section "Create a custom station from a song, album, or artist"

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

    1. Tap the More Options icon   to the right of the song, album, or artist.
    2. Tap Start Station.

Or just ask Siri to "Start a station from …” and then say the name of a song, album, or artist.

    On your Mac or PC:

    1. Select any song, album, or artist. Click the More Options icon   next to it.
    2. Click New Station from Song or New Station from Artist.

Perhaps a little buried in the UI, but still available -- thankfully!

Thanks FFS48, my stations are the best thing about iTunes Radio. Thanks again,

I don't have a "recently played" area on my Radio window - just the "beats" logo. I tried creating some new stations using the method mentioned in this thread, and nothing happens. The status window up at the top says "Unknown Title" and nothing happens. This even when I select titles I know I purchased from the iTunes store. Also, nothing is happening when I click on any of the "beats" stations listed on the radio pane.
