New MacBook iTunes won't recognize iPhone

I have the new MacBook. It has no USB. However, I need to sync the iTunes library with my iPhone, but iTunes will not recognize the phone wirelessly.

How can I get the new MacBook to recognize the phone through iTunes?

iTunes 12-OTHER, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

So let me try to understand this.

I spend over $1500 to buy a brand new Apple computer - and to get it to connect to my $800 iPhone 6, the flagship product of Apple, I have to give more money to Apple to get it work correctly? They can't provide a $20 cord?

Hmmm...

I'm not sure I'll lose this in small claims. I am NOT spending more money to get it to work. I will try genius bar first - then small claims. I doubt a small claims judge will side with Apple.
