Accidentally stopped time machine while backing up...now I can't find some iMovies I have already created/ Did I lose them permanently?

Are you saying that you were doing a backup after adding the movies and then stopped Time Machine and then deleted them from yur Computer?
How are you looking for them?
Spotlight search does not search TM.
