Q: Importing pictures from Canon DIGITAL IXUS 100 IS

I am importing pictures from my Canon DIGITAL IXUS 100 IS. Whit the old version of iPhoto was possible to insert manually, on the info tag,  the location where the photo was made; actually I can see this info whit map for the old pictures but, for the new ones is not possible to insert the info because the field for location does not appear. This is a bad jump behind because means that I loose a feature that was available since the beginning on my Macbook!

Same happen whit picture that are sent to me and that I store on Photo.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

The next version of Photos to be released in the fall as part of El Capitan will bring the ability to add location data to the photos back.  Until  then you may want to use iPhoto to add location data to your photos, before you import them to Photos.

if you are sharing photos from Photos enable the photos preference to include location data.  Otherwise this information will be stripped from rthe photo for privacy  Reasons.
