battery drain faster than ios 8.4??

I've not noticed any difference between iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4.

iOS 8.3 draining battery very fast and iOS 8.4 draining even much faster! Tested on brand new iPad Air 2 128GB Gold.

Practically everything off, only brightness on 100% And I think something wrong with brightness optimization and with whole system.

I had the same issue the 2 days after installing the update and I notice the location pointer is always on, turned it off and the phone is back to normal, turned it back on and so far things are normal....

So far I only can fix battery drain if I set "auto brightness on." But that's not in option because my old iPad 2 working fine with 100% brightness level.

Very strange! I wanna set brightness to 100% But then again battery drain! 1% per 3 minutes!

I'm getting horrible battery drain on iPhone 6 Plus since the 8.4 update. Melting my head it is.

This is claimed after EVERY iOS update. It's usually a "stuck" app trying to send data constantly, or location services as claimed above, or something similar. Usually a reset will cure it as described below:

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I have been experiencing the same problem with iOS8.3 and iOS8.4 on my iPhone 5S, model A1533 for all of last week. I have tried all the methods on various tech blogs and even tips on this thread, and nothing seems to have resolved the issue.

One thing i just noticed was: i popped the SIM tray and re-inserted the SIM tray in the slot (with the SIM inside). This seems to have slowed down the battery drain appreciably.

Please give this a try and see if this makes a difference for you.

Me to my Ipad Air 2 and my IPod Touch 5th Genaration battery was affected really harshly. My Ipod touches battery now lasts 26 minutes then it lasted and average of 4 and a half hours before i updated to ios 8.4.

Ive tried all this. I absolutely know my iphone is draining quicker with iOS 8.4. I've tried all these optiins and I notice location services arrow is on constantly. Argh.

Hi, this seems to be working! Even my network issues seem to be fixed. After the IOS 8.4 update, the phone refused to connect to 2G and was always on 3G. So, I had to intermittently keep turning on the internet to check my emails. After the above reset, my network is restored as well.

youmad, I have the same phone and the battery drain is driving me mad. How do you pop the SIM try? That's probably the only thing I haven't tried short of restoring the phone

Thank you so much, youmad. I found out how to pop open the SIM tray and FINALLY, my battery usage and standby are different numbers. I've been dealing with this for months!!
