I cannot send from my Mail account

I cannot send emails form y Mail account and cannot figure out what is wrong. I can;t get an answer form Apple unless i pay $40 - a bit much for a little piece of support!

MacBook Pro, iOS 8.2

Use Mail > window > Connection doctor


this will open a window showing connection status for each sending and receiving server. Click on any red dots and a window with configuration options will appear. Fix anything that is wrong (RANDOM experimentation is not helpful here) and set it back to the Information provided by your email provider. Re-enter any missing passwords.
