Locate the lost iPad (A1397)

Hello everyone,

How can we locate a lost iPad (A1397) with 3G network on it. I know that iPad has turned off the find my iPad. but since it is a Verizon one with not sim card slot. it has it 3G network all the time. How can we locate it before someone found it ? Should we call Verizon ASAP to see if they locate it ? Thanks a lot
